To face COVID-19 in French Guiana, on the 7th of July, UBIPHARM French Guiana made a donation of more than 10 000 AFNOR standards washable fabric masks to the French Red Cross.

French Guiana, a neighboring country of Brazil, is severely affected by this crisis and is currently experiencing its first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, with, by July 8th, nearly 5 460 confirmed cases, and a total of 22 people deceased.

While the territory is experiencing a strong spread of the virus, the three hospitals in the region have launched their plan to better organize and strengthen the intake and care interventions for patients.

In this context of health and humanitarian crisis in French Guiana, UBIPHARM French Guiana donated quality masks to the French Red Cross. The latter will distribute them free of charge in the neighborhoods most affected by the epidemic.

French Guianese state structures are still enforcing a curfew, and some neighborhoods are under confinement.
