7th Antilles-Guyane Mayotte Thesis Prize awarded in French Guiana 01 | 01

7e remise du Prix de Thèse Antilles-Guyane Mayotte en Guyane

The 7th Antilles-Guyane Guadeloupe Mayotte Thesis Prize, which is awarded every two years, took place on 20 January 2024 in Macouria, French Guiana. This prize has been awarded by the UbiPharm group in partnership with the Académie Nationale de Pharmacie since 2009.

Winners honoured

The awards ceremony was held on 13 December 2023, at an official event organised by the Académie Nationale de Pharmacie, which rewards pharmacy students throughout France.  

Third place went to Ms Naomi Boulay for her thesis on the influence of the socio-cultural environment on the onset of dermatoses specific to black skin in Africa, the West Indies and mainland France.

Second place went to Ms Alexia DUFRESNE, whose thesis focused on therapeutic compliance in sickle cell anaemia and the pharmacist's knowledge of patient support.

First place went to Lucie DELPI, whose thesis dealt with the medico-economic impact of a new treatment for sickle cell anaemia.

The evening of celebration

The evening was punctuated by speeches from a number of speakers, including

Mr Jean Marc Michel, PCA UbiPharm Guyane;
Mr Fabrice BOVAL, PCA UbiPharm Martinique;
Mr Mathieu ACQUISTO, Managing Director of UbiPharm Guyane.

The winners were given the opportunity to present their theses and receive their prizes. Guests were treated to a samba show, as well as a dynamic touloulou and tololo show. An orchestra provided a festive atmosphere, and the evening ended with a lively dance floor.
