Pharmafinance celebrates 35 years of history and commitment to African pharmacy

On June 24 and 25, 2025, Pharmafinance proudly celebrated its 35th anniversary. Founded in 1990 pharmacists from Côte d’Ivoire determined to take control of the private sector’s medicine supply chain, the Group laid the foundations for a unique model that led to the creation of PHARMACI HOLDING SA—now UbiPharm SA—at the origin of today’s UbiPharm network.

The events organised to mark this anniversary brought together clients, shareholders, and employees for two days filled with learning and emotion.

Day One: a focus on innovation
On June 24, a training session on merchandising was followed by a conference on artificial intelligence.

Day Two: a celebration
On June 25, Pharmafinance held its General Assembly, highlighted by the handover of the Chair of the Board from Mrs. Justine Sonhon to Mrs. Cissé Aïssatou, spouse of Mr KOFFI.

The Assembly concluded with a festive lunch filled with emotion. The ceremony included a rich cultural program:
• The Bak in Gado group captivated the audience with musical storytelling rooted in tradition.
• Virtuoso Narcile Kora added a poetic touch.

Highlight moment
A key moment was the tribute to Mr. Gérard Mangoua, visionary and founder of Pharmafinance. An archival film retracing the first 20 years of the Group rekindled memories and stirred deep emotion. A prominent figure in pharmaceutical development in Côte d’Ivoire and across Africa, Mr. Mangoua was recently awarded the African Pharmacy Excellence Award, recognising his life’s work, leadership, and service to the sector. The trophy was formally presented to client-shareholders. Dr. Emma Angoua, Vice President of the Pharmacists’ Council, speaking on behalf of Dr. Aruna Diarra, delivered heartfelt words of gratitude and recognition.

The celebration concluded joyfully with the traditional cutting of the cake.

Pharmafinance: 35 years of history in service of the values of a winning Africa.
